IKEA is one of the world's largest home furnishings retailers, with over 300 unique stores in 26 countries.

challenge

IKEA wanted to highlight the style and design thinking behind its furniture and other products. The business goal was to create a resource for interior design to build brand awareness, drive store traffic and sales.

solution

Rather than a simple microsite, OgilvyOne worked with IKEA to develop a platform that would allow designers to share ideas and customers to share their spaces.

In addition to posting photos of IKEA-furnished dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms, customers can look to the IKEA Share Space site for inspiration, both from IKEA designer-bloggers and other home owners and renters.

A build for a platform capable of supporting social posts from customers and blogs from IKEA designers. Work included functional specifications, experience design, development and build, QA-testing, deployment and ongoing technology and experience upgrades.

We developed IKEA Share Space, a thriving sharing hub for IKEA customers – generating tens of thousands of visits per month with little paid media.

A base for design inspiration and leadership, showcasing the quality and value of IKEA furniture.

An ongoing destination for the most dedicated IKEA customers, with over 20% of traffic consisting of return visitors and extensive sharing of user projects.
